Acupuncture and TCM diagnosis are controlled act in Ontario. To become a Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner or Registered Acupuncturist you currently require 2400 hours including 500 hours of supervised practice and 200 hours of case studies. Each Regulated College provides specific guidelines in this case ie: Physiotherapists are authorized to perform dry-needling and it is their judgment on the length of the needling program they take providing it includes components or knowing absolute contraindications, practice time and an evaluation process.
